Dear
Birthmother,
We write
this letter to you with great respect, as well as sincere compassion.
This journey you’re on must be a difficult one. We cannot begin to
understand what you must be going through but we hope your journey ends
by finding a loving home that will give your child the best opportunity
to live their life to the fullest. This letter will tell you about our
family and the warm, happy and secure life we would give your child if
you chose us.
We have
been together for seven years. We met in graduate school in St. Louis,
where we were studying to be social workers. We developed a strong
friendship almost immediately, and fell in love shortly afterwards. We
had a commitment ceremony in May of 2006. It was a small, intimate
gathering with just our immediate families in attendance. It was
important to us to show our commitment to each other surrounded by the
people we love the most. Both of our families are extremely supportive
of our relationship and our decision to have a child.
